Windows cannot find null or IEXPLORE.EXE

I just want revenge. Is that so wrong?

Windows cannot find null or IEXPLORE.EXE

Internet Explorer would not open at all. Clicking it on the start menu gave the error message, "Cannot find the file 'null'" or something similar. Clicking iexplore.exe directly gave the error message "Cannot find the file 'C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe". So I renamed it to iexplore1.exe and it opened fine. This told me some bastard virus screwed up the registry. So I searched under HKLM for iexplore.exe, and after skipping the classes section I found an entry called "debugger" pointing to a random named file in system32. Deleted that entry and everything works great.

I can't remember the key, but I think this might be it.

Code: Select all
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\MUILanguages\RCV2\iexplore.exe
